H. H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Calls On Women Around The World To Join Celebration Of Women In Sport This November

Inspiring initiative will feature fifth editions of International Conference of Sports for Women and Fatima Bint Mubarak World Sports Awards

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan today called the women of the UAE and around the world to be part of the week-long celebration of women in sport. A unique event is set to bring together courageous world-famous athletes, inspiring industry leaders and like-minded women around the world as they share their goose-bump moments, celebrate achievements and motivate greater participation in sports.

The programme for the week will include the fifth editions of both the International Conference of Sports for Women and the Fatima Bint Mubarak World Sports Awards, as well as an exciting array of educational and mass participation sports events.

Led by the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA) and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), the women in sport celebration will take place from 13-20 November 2020 in Abu Dhabi.

H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, President of the Abu Dhabi and the Al Ain ladies clubs said: “It is a pleasure and an honour to invite all of you to be part of an extraordinary celebration of women in sports. The initiative embodies not only UAE’s commitment to women’s development, but also brings to life our values of inclusion, innovation and healthy competition.

“Since the inception of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy we have made it our mission to continuously create countless opportunities for women to participate in sports. We commit to keep passionately supporting the rise of inspirational leaders in the sports industry, both here in the UAE and globally. I call on you to join us in playing a key role in shaping the future of women’s sports.

The theme of ‘Stronger Together’ is the unifying idea that will bond all aspects of the week-long celebration of women in sports this November in Abu Dhabi. At the heart of this exciting week are two flagship events in the Abu Dhabi Calendar:

In addition, the UAE capital will host a week of activities, including community fitness events, university presentations and a sports photography exhibition, amongst many other exciting activities.

As one of the cornerstones of the International Conference on Sports for Women, we once again invite all researchers and students to be a part of the event, where research, knowledge and ideas can be efficiently presented and shared.

ICSW provides a platform to present your research ideas and to connect academics, researchers and professionals from around the world.

The topic of your case study should be related to the central theme of this year’s conference – Stronger Together

Call for Papers Essential Information

All submitted abstracts will go through at least two evaluation processes: (1) single-blind peer-to-peer reviewing (at least two reviewers), (2) single-blind technical check.

From all the submitted papers only 20 will be selected for Oral Presentation (max.10 min) during the week of the conference.

All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings.

Authors of the best abstracts presented at the event will be invited to extend their papers for their publication in an edited volume.

Research papers must be written in English, however abstracts can be written in English or Arabic. Selected authors can present in both languages.

Please bring your students identification card with you to the conference, this may be checked at the gate upon entry

Tickets:

Student tickets to the 5th International Conference of Sports for Women will be available from 6 April 2020 and will be available to active college or high school students with a valid student ID from their school.

Students wishing to attend the conference will be able to register for tickets from 6 April once registration opens to the public. Student tickets* will be free of charge at the point of purchase, and upon selection of the student ticket option.

*Standard tickets will be priced at AED400 and will permit access across both days of the conference.

Please bring your students identification card with you to the conference, this may be checked at the gate upon entry

Student hotels are now available with prices* starting from AED450 at the 5* Radisson Blu Corniche.

* Rates are per room per night and inclusive of 21%taxes, internet and breakfast. AED 10 of municipality fee per room per night is excluded.
